Mel | What If

My style constantly evolves, like a lucid dream shifting shape.

Everything around me inspires. Conversations, cities, glances, forgotten books on the sidewalk. I’m always listening, as if every detail is whispering something.

What influence does your background have on your approach to creating AI art and design?

Shaped by the Study of Creation & Classical Techniques

It’s been fundamental. I studied at an art school, and at 14 I was already deeply
shaped by the study of creation and classical techniques. I know every painting method, and I’ve experimented with all kinds of materials—oil, watercolor, engraving, photography, sculpture. This full-spectrum education shaped my artistic eye long before AI arrived. But when it did, it found a fertile ground already full of ideas.

How would you describe your artistic style?

What themes or ideas do you see in your work?

A Lucid Dream Shifting Shape

Surrealist, I suppose. But I’m not sure there’s a precise definition. Sometimes I dream of being defined, other times I run from all labels. My style constantly evolves, like a lucid dream shifting shape.

Love. Romanticism. And a different perspective on reality. I try to look beyond the surface and reveal what hides underneath.

How important is color to you?

What about video and movement?

Blue Feels Like Home

Very. Especially blue. It’s always been part of me. It comforts me. Blue feels like home— quiet and infinite.

My first AI short film just came out, and it was incredible to guide the machine into motion. I’ve already worked with video for years as a photographer and filmmaker, so applying that to AI felt both natural and powerful.

How does making AI art make you feel?

AI Gave Me Back My Voice

It makes me feel alive. AI came into my life during a very delicate time. I was
agoraphobic, depressed, unable to leave the house. It all happened while I was in therapy—and AI became a spark, a way out. It saved me. It gave me back my voice.

How do you see AI art and design?

The Machine Does Nothing On Its Own

Despite what the critics say, the machine does nothing on its own. It can suggest an idea, offer new perspectives, but the choice is always yours. Like any art form, it’s made of intuition, mistakes, emotion. AI is a tool, yes—but sometimes, it becomes a real creative companion.
