I’m interested in spaces on Instagram where curation matters. Images fly by at great speed, liked, admired, but fleeting nonetheless. Curating some of the art on IG gives us a chance to pause, to look again. Manuel Guzmán at @b_white_canvas creates a space to explore a world of endless creativity. Discover thousands of artists in his curated highlights galleries, curated visual art paired with Manuel’s original music, presented in fast-moving, immersive slideshows. Each gallery is numbered, and as of today, we are at G-25. Originally from Chile and now based in Dubai, Manuel Guzmán pairs all forms of art from traditional to AI. I’ve been featured in his galleries a few times as both @perfectagala and @elizadesignai, and I really enjoy exploring all the incredible art he curates.
I really appreciate that AI art is included alongside traditional works, rather than being siloed or separated as it so often is elsewhere. This week, I’m featuring three of Manuel’s galleries. I’d share more, but it’s quite time-consuming to find each piece and ensure every artist is properly credited. Art that falls under AI—or where the medium isn’t clearly defined—is marked in red. Today, I’m posting work from G22.
Meet Manuel Guzmán, musician and curator.
In his own words.

For many years that I’ve been producing music, I’ve always been drawn to the musicalization of videos and films, and my music has always followed a fairly visual line.
A couple of years ago, I decided to upload some of my own videos and albums to music platforms and Instagram. From the beginning, the closest and most collaborative followers were always visual artists—both arts are perfectly compatible. From time to time, I would upload paintings by friends and followers alongside my music, and the result fascinated me. This “short shot of musicalized visual art” seemed to turn this new social media tool into an artistic concept in itself.

It didn’t take long before I decided to dedicate an exclusive page to this topic. At first, it seemed complicated to constantly seek out artists, but with all the algorithms and suggestions that social networks generate, they somehow push you toward new options and emerging voices from each discipline. I discovered an infinite world of fascinating new artists to support and thousands of works that exceeded my imagination—an endless realm of creativity that always begins with a blank canvas, a point where every artist must start and face creation. A state of silence, where the artist allows themselves to be used by the force of creation. So, “be a white canvas” worked perfectly as a title to host the infinite creativity I was discovering day by day.
On one hand, my creative contribution here lies in the format—its union with music and the rhythm of the styles. A good eye for well-crafted, meaningful work, respect for differences, and the innocence to be surprised have been very important tools. I love how transversal the result is. Many of the artists who appear day by day have enormous differences of all kinds, and yet everyone has the possibility of having a space. In any case, true talent, dedication, perseverance, etc., will always predominate and succeed in the long run.
Music is my life. It’s easy for me to create, and living inside it takes me out of this world. I used to draw very well and have always had a strong sense of balance in weight, color, and texture in visual works. Basically, nature maintains a constant balance that allows us to recognize and inhabit it.
